30th Annual GGFOA Conference a Huge Success!

Posted on

GGFOA celebrated its 30th Annual Conference this past week and is already receiving comments that it was “the best one yet!” The conference committee takes great pride each year in organizing a powerfully educational agenda, fun optional activities, and entertaining social events. This year was no exception.

The 30th Annual Conference was held in the picturesque setting of the Jekyll Island Convention Center. The conference kicked off with the President’s Reception Sunday evening. The attendees were entertained by photo booths and caricature artists, both of which received rave reviews! We were very fortunate to sample Cartwright’s Popcorn at this event as well! The next couple of days were packed with informational sessions on current issues and relevant topics. Some attendees found time to ride the trolley for the Jekyll Island History Tour while others learned about the amazing efforts the Sea Turtle Center puts forth in protecting these beautiful animals. Tuesday night’s banquet offered a different spin on the casino night of previous years with arcade style games mixed in. Finally, Wednesday’s keynote speaker, Carol Ann Small, entertained and got everyone excited about returning to work with a skip in their step.

Thank you to our sponsors for their role in making the conference a success!

It is a pleasure to be part of such a great group of people who come together like it hasn’t been a whole year since we’ve seen each other. We develop true and meaningful connections that are beneficial year round. I have been more involved these past two years on the conference and scholarship committees than ever before and truly witness the value of great people coming together and collaborating to achieve something great.

Kind Regards,
