2021 Annual Conference: COVID-19 Statement

Posted on

The Georgia Government Finance Officers Association has been monitoring the increase in cases of the Delta variant of COVID-19, and after careful consideration, has decided to move forward with the 36th Annual Conference at Chateau Elan Winery and Resort on October 3-6, 2021.

The health and safety of our attendees remains the priority for GGFOA, and our plans for the in-person conference include precautions and protections. Please know we are committed to hosting our conference in accordance with Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) COVID-19 safety practices and guidelines, as well as any state and local requirements.

The CDC recommends both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals wear face masks indoors. Therefore, masks will be available at the registration desk if you cannot provide your own. Each attendee will also be provided with a personal bottle of hand sanitizer in their conference bag. Where available, networking activities will take place outdoors, and efforts will be made to make the most use of space available for social distancing. To encourage participants to be courteous of other's social-distancing preferences, color-coded stickers will be provided to attendees to wear on their name badges as an indication of their personal space comfort level.

A conference information email will be sent to all registrants prior to the conference which will outline safety measures, provide download instructions for our conference app and other reminders.

We will continue to monitor the situation and update you with changes in information and guidance. Please rest assured that we fully understand these are challenging times and are taking every consideration into account to plan an event that is as safe as possible.
