ANNUAL CONFERENCE COMMITTEE
GGFOA is excited to celebrate our 34th Annual Conference and your Conference Committee has selected an ideal venue, the Savannah Marriott Riverfront Hotel. The conference will be held September 29 - October 2, 2019 at the Savannah Marriott Riverfront Hotel located at 100 General McIntosh Blvd, Savannah, Georgia 31401.
Although the Savannah Marriott Riverfront and Homewood Suites Hotel are both fully booked, additional overflow hotels are available and reservation details can be found in the online Conference Brochure.
Registration is scheduled to close September 6, 2019.

We will kick the conference off with Cocktail Connections which will provide a great networking opportunity for our attendees and exhibitors. Drink tickets for Cocktail Connects are provided courtesy of SunTrust.
GGFOA’s 34th Annual Conference, “Anchored in Excellence,” is sure to be one to remember! Participants can earn a total of 17.4 CPE credits this year. Monday will commence with our general sessions: Legislative Update, Accounting & Auditing Update, and the Economic Outlook. Monday afternoon is full of informative breakout sessions and activities.
If golf is your game, Atlanta Retirement Partners is generously sponsoring golf at the Southbridge Golf Club. Maybe your idea of fun is a little more supernatural. Explore Savannah’s haunted past on the Savannah Slow Ride Boos Cruise. A new activity this year is Painting with a Twist! Bring your favorite beverage and create a unique work of art.
Tuesday will be a full day of breakout sessions including GGFOA’s Annual Business Meeting.
On Tuesday night, Casino Night is back! We’ll also have a DJ in the house to provide music to keep the party going, and some fun games to play so you can let your hair down and have a ball! Mauldin & Jenkins will sponsor beverages for the evening.

The legislation is out, so there’s no report at this time.

The Scholarship Committee will also be holding a Silent Auction during the conference in order to raise Scholarship funds.
TECHNICAL RESOURCES COMMITTEE
At the June board meeting, the Technical Resources Committee presented a new contract from our website developer, which included increases in monthly website maintenance charges and a proposal for developing functionality that will give GGFOA administrators the ability to enter check payments into the system. The board voted to approve the contract if suitable contract terms and a termination agreement could be established. After consulting with an attorney serving on GGFOA’s board, the committee approached the website developer about the items needing clarification. A final vote was taken by email, and all board members voted unanimously to approve the contract.
